The Contemporary Apartments Design
Sponsored LinksFour contemporary loft style apartments sit behind this solid, brick facade, once the original stables of an old sugar refinery. The stables block of the old colonial Sugar Refinery has been renovated and converted into four loft style apartments. In the original complex, annexes on each side of the building provided storage for feed and hay. These were demolished long ago, and new steel frames on either side of the building are a contemporary reference to these spaces. The frames also denote the front entrances to the apartments.

Preserving the heritage character of the building was part of the brief for this development. The old brick facade has been retained and cleaned and any new elements are clearly made from modern materials.
