The apartment building is a reinforced concrete slab construction with core filled reinforced block work for support. A post tensioned podium slab was designed to deal with the structural transfer between apartments and the carpark below. (more…)

Four contemporary loft style apartments sit behind this solid, brick facade, once the original stables of an old sugar refinery. The stables block of the old colonial Sugar Refinery has been renovated and converted into four loft style apartments. In the original complex, annexes on each side of the building provided storage for feed and hay. These were demolished long ago, and new steel frames on either side of the building are a contemporary reference to these spaces. The frames also denote the front entrances to the apartments.
