An architect needed a quiet, sunny drawing space so he breathed some life into the bare bones attic of his home. With the help of friends and family he constructed, insulated, and transformed the room into an office with abundant light and gently curving walls.
The attic’s stairwell, below an in the floor plan, left, was entered through a closet until home owner / architect Dennis Hertlein remodeled. To protect his soft plywood floor, he toughened it up with coats of polyurethane.
